Creating A Criminal The Excel Way

One of the flaws in the current version of Dog Town is the labourious character creation system: it has too much accounting and takes too long. A fix until I get around to providing a rules lite version is an excel program designed by Jeremy Seeley that makes all the calculations and provies you with a character to go in under 5 minutes.

This really is a cool bit of software and I am very grateful to Jeremy.

Bust: Explosive Roleplaying

Finalcover_logo Bust is a fast, narrative focused card based system that uses player defined traits in a single, explosive resolution mechanic.

The core mechanic is that player characters assume a tough template of 21 with player created traits and flaws boosting and detracting that number. Threats and challenges in the form of cards attempt to bust that number. The harder the challenge the more cards have to be turned. Insert Aces that neutralize difficulty, exploding kings that create more, Jokers that twist fate, and play becomes more dyanmic and tactical. The system is flexible using templates like 14 or 28 for more mundane and heroic play.

Frederico Thibault

I pleased to announce that Dog Town fan and email buddy Frederico Thibault will be contributing gun related material for the forthcoming Dog Town: Stray Bullets. Frederico is a great enthusiast of the genre with a talent for finding very useful but obscure information on the decadent decade.
